             Manna will be closed on July 4th and since our distributors will be closed, Monday, July 5th, we will not be placing any orders that week.  Ordering will resume on Monday, July 12th. 
             New to Manna: New $10 denomination gift certificates in Pete's Market along with the $20 certificates already in stock and Schoolbelles (various denomination available) at a 4% discount as a special order.
Don't forget to pick up your Manna statement for the quarter ending June 30, 2010, which will be available in July.  Manna C&C sales occur on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. and Sunday mornings after 9:00 a.m. mass until 10:45 a.m.

               St. Bernadette Manna Program

                              2009/2010

Dear St. Bernadette School Families,

            Welcome back to school.  We’d like to inform you about St. Bernadette Manna program.  The St. Bernadette Manna program’s primary purpose is to allow all families a chance to help reduce the cost of their child’s Catholic Education.  The Manna program offers all of the school families the opportunity to earn tuition credits by purchasing gift certificates and using them instead of cash when shopping.  This is how the program works.  Stores participating in the Manna program sell us their gift certificates for use in their store. (There are many popular stores who participate in the program, like Lagen’s, Jewel, Ultra Foods, Kohl’s, Wal Mart, and many, many more.  Some stores allow their charge bills to be paid off with certificates. There are over 100 stores that participate in the program.)   The certificates you purchase are just like cash. Our program buys these certificates at a discount price, but the certificates are worth their full face value when you shop with them.  After program expenses, that discount is passed on to you.  Tuition credits will be given to you in the form of statements issued on a quarterly basis.  This amount should be deducted from your tuition payment.  The school keeps none of the credit you earned.  No one else benefits from the purchase but you as it is posted directly to your account; however, you can have others purchase on your behalf and be applied to your account.

Manna certificates can be purchased at the Manna office located in back of the church.  The Cash & Carry hours are:

                                                Wednesdays -6:30 – 7:30

                                                Sundays -    9:45 – 10:45

Please remember that you can place an order every week and have the items by Wednesday’s sale or sent home with your child from school on Thursday.  Also, please note that we reserve the right to limit the quantity of the cash & carry items, as we only have a limited supply on hand.  If a large denomination is needed, please place an order.  Manna order form are available at the School office.  All orders must include payment by check or cash.  All order forms need to be returned to the Manna office during a sale or to the school office before 9:00 am on Monday morning to be filled and available at the Wednesday Sale or delivered through school on Thursday.  An enrollment form must be completed by each family in order to participate.

An example of how easy the program works is listed below.  It is up to you how much credit you will earn.  The more you use it, the better credit you will earn.

Purchase Jewel $400 per month (@4% credit)                Earns $16.00 per month

Purchase Kohl’s $100 per month (@4% credit)              Earns $  4.00 per month

Purchase Rosangelo’s $40 per month (@9% credit)        Earns $  3.60 per month

Purchase Speedway Gas $100 per month (@3% credit)  Earns $  3.00 per month

                                    Total Credit for one month                 $26.60

                                    Total Credit for the year                    $319.20

This is one program in which you can get something for nothing.  The manna program, if used on a regular basis, can help reduce the cost of a catholic education.  It costs you nothing extra to shop this way!  If you are available to assist the Manna officers by working a cash and carry sale, please contact Tina Brettman.  You will always be working with a Manna officer.  Your help is greatly appreciated.

Enrollment Form-St. Bernadette Manna Program 2009

Program rules and guidelines

1)     Each family will be provided a unique customer ID number.  This number must appear on all orders you submit to ensure your purchases are accurately recorded. (First Three Letters of Last Name, first four numbers of your address)

2)     All certificate orders must be accompanied by a check or money order made payable to St. Bernadette Manna.  For all first time purchases, we request cash or money order along with a photo ID for name and address verification.  Manna certificate payments are not tax deductible because you receive dollar for dollar value. 

3)     If your check is returned because of non-sufficient funds (NSF), you will be charged a $15 fee payable to St. Bernadette Manna.  After two NSF checks are tendered on your account, your Manna (scrip) ordering privileges will be limited to cash or money order only.

4)     At The end of each quarter, St. Bernadette Manna program will provide a summary of each participating family’s purchases and their available tuition credit.  School family credits are applied towards their monthly tuition, checks are issued each quarter for catholic high school and catholic college participants.  If your credit is to be held in the savings program, checks are only issued at the end of a quarter to either St. Bernadette or a Catholic High School or Catholic College.

5)     Manna (Scrip) certificates are purchased on your behalf, and are not returnable.  Please verify your order before leaving the cash & carry sale or immediately upon receipt from your child when they are sent home.

6)     In the unlikely event you should find a discrepancy in your scrip order, please contact the St. Bernadette Manna  (Scrip) Program coordinator Tina Brettman (708) 422-2754 or Gina O’Connell (708) 346-9841 immediately.

7)     We reserve the right to limit the quantity of certificates purchased at the Cash & Carry Sales.

8)     We reserve the right to request a photo ID at the Cash & Carry Sales.

9)     Manna (Scrip) certificates are the same as cash, and should be handled accordingly.  St. Bernadette Manna program will not be responsible for certificates that are lost, stolen or misplaced while in your possession.
